Russians executed five captured Ukrainian soldiers
The Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine reported that Russian military personnel deliberately shot Ukrainian soldiers who were in captivity. It occurred on the morning of November 27, 2025, in the direction of Huliaipole, Zaporizhzhia region. Ukrainian law enforcement authorities have initiated a pre-trial investigation into violations of the laws and customs of war, combined with intentional murder.
“Such actions are a gross violation of the Geneva Conventions and a serious international crime”, – emphasized in the Office of the Prosecutor General.
In addition, the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, reported that in response to this crime, he had sent official letters to the International Committee of the Red Cross and the United Nations.
He stressed that these are not isolated cases, but a systematic policy of the Russian army, which is a gross violation of the Geneva Conventions and can be classified as a war crime.

EU imposed sanctions on the heads and staff of colonies where Ukrainian POWs are tortured

The study focuses on the situation of Ukrainian prisoners of war from the Azov regiment and exposes a mechanism that combines Russian propaganda machinery, practices of torture, and fabricated criminal prosecution. The authors document the systemic nature of Russia's violations of international humanitarian law and call for strengthening international mechanisms to protect prisoners of war.

On 24 June, the Center for Civil Liberties presented the analytical study "Anatomy of Torture" in Kyiv. The document examines the role of Russian medical personnel in the torture of Ukrainian prisoners of war and illegally detained civilians.
